I teach a free adult ESL program at a library- the newspapers are very useful because we can read different articles each night without worrying if a student was there the night before or not (whereas other ESL materials are more like ongoing stories).

Easy English NEWS is a very useful tool in teaching complex concepts and ideas to adult learners. You don't "talk down" to students and you cover adult interest topics that are vital to an educated citizenry.
